Running the risk of turning this into a blog that could be aptly renamed Remembrance of Rock Gods Past, this past week MCA/Nathanial Hornblower/Adam Yauch passed away after a three-year battle with cancer. I could extol the virtues of The Beastie Boys and add to the overwhelming mass of literature on their broad range of influence and their genre-bending, ground-breaking exploits into the worlds of hip-hop, punk, and Old Eastern music, but many others have said whatever I could say much better and much more eloquently.
Adam Yauch, my favorite Beastie, died at the age of 47 this past Saturday.
