The second film to have been spurred into production by the ecstatic response to its fake trailer in the theatrical double-feature release Grindhouse, Hobo with a Shotgun may actually be the better of the two (with Machete being the other film in the conversation), despite having relative unknowns writing and directing the film.
To say Hobo with a Shotgun is insane would be a gross understatement and would be doing a disservice to director Jason Eisener and screenwriter John Davies. Their vision for this film is deliciously exploitative with the violence comically and voraciously over the top. From top to bottom, soundtrack to feel, this film accomplishes what it sets out to do, which is unleash Rutger Hauer's 'Hobo' on
I cannot recommend this flick highly enough and hope upon hope that it makes a run through the Alamo in the very near future.
