Prick Tunes: Valentine "Take You Back"

Valentine, if you weren't aware, was Frank Stallone's band when he was a young buck coming up in the 70s. Now, before you get dismissive, let me drop some knowledge on you. John Motherfucking Oates* was once lead guitarist for Valentine, so if he needed cred in your book (read: if you're a shithead), I think this should take care of it for you.

*My favorite member of Hall & Oates that I've met. Sadly, I've not had the pleasure of being able to put his kiss on my list of the best things in life.
Most of you should vaguely recognize this tune as the tune that opens each of the Rocky bookends, which means it's in the best two Rocky movies that aren't Rocky IV.

Prick Tunes: Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, Edgar Meyer, and Chris Thile The Goat Rodeo Sessions

John Oates gave me a free iTunes download of a song off of this album. True story.
I sort of chuckled. Then I saw them on The Colbert Report the next day, and my interests were piqued. Well, the Musicians@Google series featured the quartet on their series, and the result is this 33 minute video that is roughly half performance and half panel interview. The perfect recipe for relaxation at work. Put this on in the background, and let it ride.
